A
higher percentage of Manitobans have
sold their homes privately in 2002 than
ever before. Soon, that kind of movement
toward private sale will be a Canada-wide
phenomenon.
The
Winnipeg Real Estate Board’s listing service system continues
its six-year downward spiral, while ComFree Private
Sales continues its growth.
Statistics
provided by the board and by
ComFree for the first 10 months of this year reveal
that private sale listings increased by 40 per cent
while homes available on the agents' listing service fell by 11 per cent.
Total
real estate commission saved by people selling privately
with ComFree now exceeds $19 million. That is money
that formerly went into agents’ pockets that
now stays with the homesellers.
Equity
preservation is what ComFree and private sale are
all about.
Homeowners
in the rest of Canada also want access to the only
private sale system that has ever taken an appreciable
amount of marketshare
away from the agents' listing service. They, too, want to keep the money
they’ve invested in their home when they sell.
|
That’s
why ComFree has begun an expansion program that will
see offices opened in every major centre in Canada.
We’re growing because there’s strong public
demand for a successful alternative to the agents’
expensive commission
system.
With
offices already in Winnipeg and
Brandon, ComFree established an Edmonton operation
this fall.
In
early 2003, offices will also open in
Calgary and Vancouver. And there is a strong possibility
that Vancouver Island will be added to the ComFree
family before the end of 2003.
Discussions
are already underway to move
ComFree east into major Ontario markets.
Within the next few years, ComFree will extend across
Canada, with all homes listed with each regional office
available for viewing on our net site, www.comfree.ca.
A nation-wide private
sale market will be a reality.
If
ComFree can save Manitobans $19 million in commissions,
think how much we can save all Canadians.
